YOU’RE HAVING A BRIGHTON WEDDING, BUT YOU’RE WONDERING HOW TO PICK A DATE…
When’s the best time of year to get married?
Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re choosing your date. Depending on the wedding venue you’ve chosen and what your priorities are, some of these might be more relevant than others:
- Brighton is extremely busy during the summer, particularly during weekends, bank holidays and summer holidays so consider getting married during the week or off peak season. This will also mean more choice between wedding suppliers and it might save you a few pennies too.
- November to April can be cold but if you decide to have a winter Brighton wedding it will be a lot more quiet, giving you the best chance for photos. Also golden light during the winter months on Brighton beach is to die for!
- Plan for rain, anything else is a bonus! For example, if you’re planning to have your wedding ceremony at the Brighton Bandstand and walk to your reception venue, make sure you have some umbrellas as a backup.
- It gets really hot in Brighton at the heigh of summer! We are so used to worrying about the rain that we often forget to plan ahead for an extremely hot day. Make sure you provide plenty of water, sunscreen and white umbrellas are also a great idea to provide shade. Talk to your wedding photographer to work out what’s the best time for the ceremony and photos in regards to the light.
